Working in the City can be very stressful due to factors such as the demands of work, time constraints, and travelling through the London rush hour. Chronic stress can lead to depression and can have an adverse effect on sleep which will decrease productivity at work and ultimately make the individual unhappy.
Punch Bag and Boxing
Physically, hitting a punch bag produces a response in your body that helps to relieve tension. you may picture the punching bag or pads as representative of your stress. Imagining a troublesome situation or person in your life and punching at the bag allows you to express anger in a healthier way than becoming physical with another person.
Boxing as an exercise forces the body to trigger a "fight or flight" response. While hitting a bag or pads (with a good trainer), boxing will help the body release hormones such as adrenaline quickly into the bloodstream. The senses will be heightened, blood will circulate quicker, heart rate will go up and awareness and impulses will intensify.
In short exercise and boxing can and will relieve stress and make you feel better in and out of the workplace
